film review

Domino

This movie is a 2005 biography ( a very unique one) of Domino Harvey, daughter of an o Hollywood movie actor ,Laurence Harvey, that abandoned all her glamorous background and future to be a bounty –hunter. Harvey died of a drug overdose on June 2005, months before the film was released.

Domino (Keira Knightley) is spoiled daughter of Hollywood. She past form school to school and even abandon a promising carer as a model until she decide to be a bounty hunter. She trains with Ed Moseby (Mickey Rourke) and Choco (Edgar Ramirez) and became colleagues. They become a family and the love begins to grow between Choco and Domino, but a disastrous final mission end with the live of Ed and Choco. Still, Domino feels happy of the result, since she has accomplished her mission: to save the life o a little girl, tha will be a leader in the future, according t a dessert prophet.

Besides the story, I think that the interesting point of the film is the use of the visual elements. A chaotic use of the screen, with a too-much too-fast use of cameras, that could make you feel dizzy, making you remember old music videoclips. This esthetical use of the cameras you can love it or hate it, with nothing in between. In my opinion the strongest points of the film are the element of Domino, even the film isn’t enough for her, and the use of camera.
