Summary of an psychology article

The article I choose was "GROUP MEMBERSHIP AND SOCIAL INFLUENCE", written by Barry Markovsky and Christopher Barnum. This articles talks about an experiment of social influence. According to the classic theories of social influence, one person tries to fit in the group were he belongs or want to be part of. One of the many methods to fit in a group is act and thinks like them. This article put this part of theory tested. They tried to prove that the social influence of the group where the subject belongs is bigger than the influence of group where the subject doesn’t belong. The hypothesis was correct, the influence of a group is bigger when you belong to it.
